SERVICES: 1) EMERGENCY FOOD: Available for individuals and families in need. 2) HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE: o THANKSGIVING: Food baskets offered for anyone in need. Must call first. Sign up Oct 1st (until list is full). Distribution: Week of Thanksgiving. o December Holidays: Food baskets provided to anyone in need and new toys for children. Call first. Sign up starts on 10/1-12/7. No referral needed. 3) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Available for evictions, utility turn-offs, water bills, prescriptions, auto expenses and child day care expenses. 4) TRANSPORTATION: Will provide transportation to medical appointments. Call and press 4 for the Ride Coordinator to schedule a pick-up.
Brief Description of Service
1) FOOD PANTRY: Provides emergency food assistance once a month to area residents. Located at 601 East Potomac Street, Brunswick MD 21716 and open every Thursday evening from 6:30-8PM and 1st Sat of each month from 9:30AM-11AM. 2) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Offers help with rent, medication, utilities including fuel. Must meet income guidelines. Call for further details. 3) INFORMATION and REFERRAL: Offers referrals to resources for shelter, clothing, and other essentials. 4) HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE 2019: o THANKSGIVING BASKET: Sign up during regular food bank hours from 6:30-8PM through November 10th. If you do not sign up you will not receive a basket. Pick up will be Saturday Nov. 17th from 10-1PM at the American Legion. o CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE: Offers families with children age 18 and under in the Brunswick School District Christmas assistance for toys and clothing. Sign up fro Christmas Assistance Oct. 7th,10th, 21st & 24th, 2019 from 6-8PM at the Brunswick Public Library. Applicants must provide ID with proof of address, proof of income, and social security cards for the entire household, proof of bills, and a wish list for each child as well as clothing size. 5) DONATIONS: Monetary donations are always welcomed as well as nonperishable/perishable food, hygiene items and household products such as dish liquid and paper towels.
