What.ngo's mission includes creating a means by which hotline volunteers can collaborate to improve the hotline industry
There are more individuals in need of hotline services than ever. Making sure that everyone receives the services they require is what matters. The hotline industry should not operate as individual hotlines in competition with one another for business.
We see the hotline industry as a collaboration between well-meaning nonprofit agencies, local, state, regional and national government services, and the private sector. Most hotlines have management and executive staff that are well compensated not only financially but also through benefits that provide for a safe working environment.
However, because hotline volunteers are at the core of the services provided, we believe they deserve a say in the operation of hotlines.
